Happy Jackson decided to come to work the other day so I took a few photos. Here’s my favorite:

Last Saturday I headed up to Clear Creek Canyon with a bunch of friends for some ice climbing. The ice conditions were beautiful and I had my brand new crampons. These two factors embiggened my courage and I lead both the upper and lower flows. I had placed one screw on lead during our ascent of Notch Couloir last year but this was my first real water ice lead! Click here for some more photos.

Jackson got to take the inaugural ride in his backpack on Christmas Day. We’d actually bought it just a week after he was born because we had a killer coupon, but this was the first time we’d really played with it. Jackson fit in it better than I thought he would considering he’s only about 13 lbs, and he had no problem holding his head up and all that. However he got tired of it after about 20 min and wanted to get out.
