(1) Sunrise from below The Gash (photo by Fabio Somenzi).
(2) Due to the morning cloud cover the alpine glow on The Sharkstooth and surrounding rock walls was an intense red.
(3) View of The Sharkstooth during the scramble through The Gash.
(4) Another shot of The Sharkstooth from The Gash (photo by Fabio Somenzi).
(5) I spotted this cool looking spider during the approach up to The Sharkstooth's northeast ridge.
(6) Fabio leads the first pitch on The Sharkstooth's northeast ridge. This dihedral was actually quite unpleasant due to all the moss and lichen in it. At about this point Fabio traversed left out onto some clean but steep face climbing.
(7) Me leading the second pitch (photo by Fabio Somenzi). I traversed right across a broad ledge and then ascended up a pleasant chimney-like dihedral.
(8) Fabio follows up the chimney-like dihedral on the second pitch.
(9) Fabio begins the third pitch by continuing up the chimney-like dihedral. About 20 more feet up the dihedral he would traverse left to find the most challenging climbing of the day.
(10) Me following the third pitch - I'm just about to reach the crux of the day (photo by Fabio Somenzi).
(11) Me on the fourth pitch (photo by Fabio Somenzi).
(12) Another shot of me on the fourth pitch (photo by Fabio Somenzi).
(13) Me belaying atop the fourth pitch (photo by Fabio Somenzi). When I first got to the off-width crack below the belay stance I was a little alarmed because I absolutely such at cracks. However this one was quite fun and I grunted up it without too much trouble.
(14) Me belaying Fabio on the fifth pitch (photo by Fabio Somenzi). The famous Petit Grepon is visible below.
(15) Fabio follows the sixth and final pitch to the summit of The Sharkstooth.
(16) Shot of Otis Peak and Hallet Peak from near the summit of The Sharkstooth (photo by Fabio Somenzi). From this vantage point it's hard to tell where Otis stops and Hallet starts.
(17) A thunderstorm forced a hasty retreat (photo by Fabio Somenzi). During the hike back down through The Gash clouds enveloped the surrounding peaks.
